About Audio Brothers
Audio Brothers is a family-owned radio imaging and sonic branding studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, founded by brothers Tom and Flip van Schil. We specialize in instrumental radio imaging and create music beds, news beds, weather and traffic beds, drones, backsells, show branding and other production elements for radio stations, broadcasters, DJs, podcasters and audio producers.
Radio is a relatively small and highly specialized industry, and that is precisely what appeals to us. We have always been interested not only in how radio sounds, but also in how it works: how presenters use music underneath speech, how a news bed creates pace and authority, how imaging connects songs and programme elements, and how a consistent sound helps listeners recognize a station. That combination of music, branding and daily studio practice has become our field of expertise.
Our work is shaped by a detailed understanding of radio production. A music bed may sound convincing on its own, but it also needs to leave enough space for a presenter. A drone should create atmosphere without drawing attention away from the spoken content. A backsell has to provide energy and structure while remaining easy to use in a live broadcast. We therefore pay close attention to arrangement, timing, dynamics, speech space, transitions and practical edit points. Every production is composed, produced, edited and tested by music producers who know the specific requirements of radio imaging.
Audio Brothers creates custom radio imaging for broadcasters, stations, shows and DJs that need a sound developed around their format, audience, brand identity and production workflow. We have worked on radio imaging and broadcast music for organizations including VRT Radio 1, VRT NWS, Sporza, Radio 538, Radio 10, 100% NL, SLAM!, JOE, Sky Radio and NRK P3. These projects have included public radio, commercial radio, news and current affairs, sports coverage, entertainment programming, station branding and daily presenter support.
Alongside our custom work, we offer ready-to-use radio imaging packages through the Audio Brothers webshop. These packages are intended for local, regional, community, online and independent radio stations that need professionally produced imaging without commissioning a complete custom package. Customers can preview, purchase and download the audio directly. Packages generally include stems, mix-outs and practical edits, giving producers the flexibility to use the material underneath voice-overs, presenter links, promos, station IDs, news, traffic, weather, podcasts and online content.
The ready-to-use library is produced with the same broadcast knowledge that informs our custom projects. The material is not generic production music and is not generated by AI. It is written specifically for radio and audio branding workflows, with attention to how the music will be used during an actual broadcast.
